A young family of three wanted a home where life could move easily between indoors and out, in harmony with the calm atmosphere of Naarden Vesting.
The existing house lacked a connection to the garden, and the layout felt closed off. We restored a strong relationship with the outdoors by relocating the toilet, opening up the rear façade with floor-to-ceiling windows, and smartly reorganizing the ground floor.
Upstairs, the plan was reimagined to follow the dynamics of daily life. An underused landing and bathroom gave way to two proper bedrooms. A new staircase opened access to the attic, which we transformed into a potential third bedroom or studio. The original beams were carefully repositioned, making the space both functional and full of character.
